A candlelight walk for teen mental health awareness — Winston-Salem, NC
"Tipping the balance between hope and despair."
Every year, our community gathers to walk side by side for teens fighting mental health battles that too often go unseen. No one should feel alone in what they're carrying.

Stroll Into Light is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to raising mental health awareness among teens. The mental health struggles young people face — anxiety, depression, and more — too often go unnoticed until a crisis occurs. We believe every person deserves to be heard and supported long before that point.
Our signature event is an annual candlelight walk where the community comes together in solidarity. Each attendee carries a candle, walks side by side with neighbors, and hears from speakers who've found their own way from darkness into light. It's part remembrance, part celebration, and part call to action.
Thanks to the generosity of Kendra Scott, we're raffling off jewelry the night of the walk. Stop by the check-in table to enter.
Venmo @angie-koonin to enter, or bring cash or card to the event.
Join us in person — gather early, walk together, and stay for reflection and guest speakers.
Register to walk, sponsor someone who can't attend, or give directly — every option supports the same mission.
Proceeds from the walk go directly back into the community.
Stroll Into Light is made possible by the generosity of local businesses, practices, and families.
Students from local high schools who help spread the word and lead by example at their own campuses. The 2026 walk is run by these students — they find sponsorships, secure donations, and recruit walkers.
Questions about the walk, sponsorship, or how to get involved? We'd love to hear from you.
